i will always treasure this first experience of creating cyanotypes!
feeling a little worn down on the day of the workshop, i was hesitant to even go
after hearing about the photographic process, we were instructed to paint this light sensitive solution onto our paper and then let it dry in a dark room
i painted the solution on with intuition
feeling tired gave me the space to not overthink what i was doing
one by one i took each paper out of the drying area, placed pressed botanicals on top, then let them transform in the sunlight
after rinsing the solution off, the paper transformed into this mesmerizing prussian blue
when i got home, i laid each photo down in the order they were created
i began noticing moments where one flowed into the next
this art “simply happened” as it was meant to
these pieces will always hold a special place in my heart!
