General Information: How long does a session take? A body paint session may be anywhere from 1 hour to 8 hours+ With an intricate design or a lot of skin being painted, such as a full head to toe body paint, the session may take longer and this will be noted ahead of time with a time range and pricing estimate. If the session needs to take place in a short amount of time I will do my best to accommodate with a simplified design. How long does the paint last? The water based paint will stay until it gets wet. If you’d like the paint to be sealed I have products available to do so that will help it hold for much longer. There are also some products that are more effective for sweat proof or water resistant design. What products do you use? I use a variety of makeup products. For body painting I use a water based face and body makeup for the majority of my work. I often use other products like eyeshadows and eye pencils within the designs. How to remove the paint The ease of removal is dependent upon the products and colors we use. Recommended to spread a moisturizing agent and a liquid soap or cleanser all over the belly to break down the makeup (micellar water, coconut oil, cetaphil, etc. and a cleanser). Then gently remove paint residue with a wet wash cloth. Rinse and apply lotion to skin after drying off. If a tint of color remains after cleaning, it’s okay! Recommended to keep skin moisturized. The makeup is non-toxic and harmless and will fade on its own. What to wear We will discuss if you have costuming that should be incorporated in the design. Aside from costuming, simple, solid clothing is recommended versus busy patterns that may be distracting depending on the direction. What to bring Bring any snacks and drinks you may want during the session. It is preferred to have a drinking cup that has a straw as it is less likely to spill onto the paint.
