This painting was created on a rainy evening in my studio where the creative energy was flowing with ease. It was like this painting just wanted, or even needed, to exist.
 
This piece actually has a previous painting underneath that I painted over with this deep green.
I referenced an image of a real butterfly when laying down the color on the largest wings, moving through different shades of color throughout the design.
 
This color exploration lead to something really magical! These photos don't do it justice to experiencing it in person! This original painting has texture, metallic accents and feeling that cannot be replicated in print.
