"home" mushroom-shaped wooden ornament

When the idea came to me to create a holiday collection, I began thinking about what this collection would be about.
 
I had recently visited Ohio to pack up the last of my items that remained within our home there as my family closed a chapter of having lived in Ohio nearly our entire lives. Most of what I've known as "home" has been in Ohio and I love and miss it dearly. 
 
I found these pieces on November 1st - now just realizing how incredibly quickly I've managed to create this collection - and they spoke to me of bringing the feeling of home into them. With it being a holiday collection, the feeling of home felt perfect to me.
 
The idea of home can be different for everyone. While creating this collection my hope was that there may be a detail or a piece that brings this personal feeling to everyone.
 
This mushroom ornament was the first piece of the collection that I fully conceptualized, began working on and the first piece I completed!
 
Hand painted with acrylic and varnished with a satin finish, so it has a slight shine.
